You will find below all the technical specifications and requirements for the latest Claris FileMaker products.

Claris FileMaker Pro

If you purchased FileMaker software directly from Claris, you received an email with a link to your Electronic Software Download page. Your license certificate file is available from that page. FileMaker Pro displays and supports the language used by the desktop operating system.

Claris FileMaker Go

FileMaker Go is a single, universal app that is designed for both iPad and iPhone and is available on the App Store.

Claris FileMaker WebDirect

FileMaker WebDirect runs custom apps in a web browser on a computer, tablet, and mobile phone. It is available in FileMaker Cloud and FileMaker Server.

Claris FileMaker Cloud

FileMaker Cloud is a service available from Claris International Inc. through a request to our Sales Team. It includes access to the following clients: FileMaker Pro, FileMaker Go, and FileMaker WebDirect.

Claris FileMaker Server

FileMaker Server is available only as an electronic download. It includes product software and a link to an electronic license certificate for installation and provides access to the following clients: FileMaker Pro, FileMaker Go, and FileMaker WebDirect.

Important:

  • While the publicly communicated version number is indicated by year (Claris FileMaker 2026) we are retaining the numeric version in technical specifications to facilitate clarity and customer support. The numeric version (26.x) is shown in the About FileMaker Pro dialog box, and Admin Console for FileMaker Server and FileMaker Cloud. 
  • FileMaker Cloud 26.x is coming soon. FileMaker Cloud 2.21.x is currently available and meets the same requirements and compatibility where FileMaker Cloud version 26.x is listed below.

Hardware requirements

A dedicated computer is recommended for FileMaker Server that is reserved for use as a database server. Don't use an email, print, or network file server.

Operating system drive requirements for FileMaker Server

FileMaker Server uses the operating system drive to provide temporary storage for progressive downloading, uploading and downloading apps, log files, and cache storage used by components such as the web server.

To maintain an optimal operating environment, FileMaker Server requires 100 GB or more of available storage on the operating system drive even if apps are hosted on or backed up to another drive. The server administrator must monitor the operating system drive to make sure that enough storage is available.
